Southhampton, New York Home

The Project

Our clients wanted to refresh their Southampton summer home without extensive renovations or lengthy construction. The goal was to create a home that complemented its seasonal use while reflecting their evolving personal style. Through thoughtful updates to the home’s furnishings, finishes, and layout, each space was reimagined to feel lighter, more inviting, and better suited to entertaining, relaxation, and everyday living.

The Challenge

The homeowners wanted to transform their summer home without embarking on a major renovation. Several spaces no longer reflected the way they lived or entertained, and the home needed to accommodate new routines, including a dedicated work-from-home office. The challenge was to breathe new life into the existing interiors while preserving the ease and comfort of a seasonal retreat.

The Design Approach

Rather than relying on construction, the design focused on thoughtful updates that transformed the character of each room. A welcoming conversation area was added to the front-of-house bar to create a casual gathering space for friends and family, while a custom banquette near the kitchen provided additional seating for morning coffee, meals, and everyday lounging. The once dark dining room was brightened with metallic grasscloth wallpaper that reflected natural daylight, then grounded with an oversized rustic teak table.

Throughout the home, natural woods, woven textures, soft neutral furnishings, and layered materials created a relaxed coastal palette. The primary bedroom was redesigned to complement the adjoining Moroccan-inspired sitting room, the former guest room was converted into a dedicated home office, and each guest room was refreshed to welcome visitors with comfort and contemporary sophistication.

The Results

Without extensive renovations, the home evolved into a brighter, more welcoming summer retreat that reflected both the homeowners’ lifestyle and their evolving personal style. Spaces that once felt underutilized became destinations for gathering, relaxing, and working, while updated furnishings and natural materials created a sense of cohesion throughout the home. The result was a timeless Hamptons retreat that balanced contemporary comfort with the relaxed elegance of seasonal living.
